E!’s Brunch at the Oscars

Our very own Ruth Tal and Shereen Arazm Koules, co-founders of Fresh Restaurants LA, were recently featured on E!’s Brunch at the Oscars! Check out the recipes below. 

Raspberry Lime Fauxito

10 raspberries
10 mint leaves
1 tbsp agave ( you can also use simple syrup)
3 ounces apple juice
1.5 ounces lime juice
4 ounces club soda or sparkling mineral water
lime wedge garnish
3 or 4 raspberries for garnish

1.  In a mason jar glass, add the raspberries, mint leaves and agave. Muddle ( squish) with the back a wooden spoon until well combined.
2. Fill glass with ice.
3. Add apple juice, then lime juice. Then fill with soda or sparkling mineral water.
4. Add a paper straw and garnish with 3 or 4 raspberries on top, a fresh mint sprig and lime wedge.

Grapefruit Palomalita

1.5 ounce lime juice
2 ounce grapefruit juice
1 tbsp agave ( you can also use simple syrup)
3 ounces grapefruit soda
crushed ice
salt rim
lime wheel

1. Rub the lime around the edge of the glass and salt the rim.
2. Combine lime juice, grapefruit juice and simple syrup in a shaker. Shake for 10 to 15 seconds.
3. Strain into glass over ice.
4. Top with grapefruit soda. Stir.
5. Garnish with lime wheel and a star anise.

The Sun Kissed

¼ ounce turmeric juice or 1 tsp turmeric powder
2 ounces pineapple juice
½ ounce lime juice
1 ounce ginger flavoured kombucha
½ teaspoon agave
crushed ice
cayenne pepper  garnish
leaf garnish

1. Shake all ingredients in cocktail shaker with ice.
2. Strain into glass over ice.
3. Garnish with a shake of cayenne pepper and the pineapple leaf.

The Butterfly Margarita

1.5 oz lemon juice
1.5 oz lime juice
1 tbsp agave (you can also use simple syrup)
1.5 oz orange juice
.5 oz butterfly pea flower extract
1 oz soda water
Crushed ice
Wedge of lemon and lime
Salt for rim

1. Rub the lime around the edge of tall stemmed margarita glass and salt the rim.
2. Half fill the glass with crushed ice.
3. Pour the lemon juice, lime juice, orange juice and agave over ice.
4. Using the back of a spoon, layer the butterfly pea extract and soda water.
5. Serve with a slice of lemon and lime.
