Los Angeles: Canada’s Fresh Brand Debuts in U.S
Canadian vegan concept Fresh’s Hollywood location emphasizes botanicals and sustainable ingredients.
Toronto-based vegan concept Fresh made its first foray into the U.S. in September, opening a location on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood, California. The Los Angeles unit has a bustling bar that emphasizes botanical ingredients, featuring signature cocktails ($12-$15) like the Aloe Mojito, blending Crusoe Silver Organic rum, Chareau Aloe liqueur, crushed mint, lime juice, and house-made spruce tip sugar. Craft beers and ciers ($6-$10 a draft pour, bottle, or can) are also available, along with a handful of sustainably focused wines ($10-$17 a glass; $40-$120 a 750-mL). Fresh founder Ruth Tal partnered with Shereen Arazm, a Canadian-born and Los Angeles-based restauranteur, nightclub owner, and television personality, to open the U.S. location.
